October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

But I say,

I'm already aware

How about we call it what it needs to be

Prevention is easier than cure

Because awareness without action is just...

watching

World peace starts in me Not a law,

not a sign, not a policy

It's a choice I make when I wake up each day Every

word that I speak,

every step that I take

I've seen too much pain,

I've cried too many tears

I've lost my own blood,

faced my deepest fears

But I'm still standing,

I'm still here

And I'm choosing peace,

let me make it clear

I pledge to be

nonviolent

Respect my body, protect the Earth I am

NVP!

Nonviolent Person, that's me!

Aw yeah, that's me!

My body's a temple,

I treat it with care

Clean air in my lungs,

good food that I share I put down the phone,

step into the sun This life is a treasure,

my race has just begun

No smoke, no drink,

no drugs in my life

I'm walking in the sun to get vitamin D

Learn something new,

to be all I can be

Mamas and Papas, hear this plea Don't lose your child to the

streets

I lost my grandson,

Adam, too

Let's turn our grief

into saving a life

Let's change the world,

starting with

you and me
