I've been thinking about doing some
acting for a while and obviously
Luke has become a great friend
of mine and,
you know,
as his music career was kinda
starting I was trying to help
him out and introduce him to
some writers in town and we
were writing together and he was
like, "Man,
you should really try acting."
And it was already something on
my mind but,
uh, obviously didn't know it would
happen this quickly and what a
great way to get introduced to
that world with,
uh, Marshals because,
you know,
like you said with Yellowstone,
the alignment of country music in
that show has been so great
and I think it's done so
much for country music in general.
I think it's more popular all
over the world because of those
shows. It was,
uh, you know,
the learning curve for me was
I've never done any acting.
I mean,
obviously I've done some music videos
and some commercials and things like
that but it's such a different
world when you walk on set
and see what all goes into
this, how many people are on
a crew and,
uh, it was a really fun
experience for me because it's something
that
I went into somewhat nervous.
You know,
I don't get nervous to play
shows anymore,
I've done it for so long
but this was a brand new
thing for me and,
uh, it was a lot,
it was a big learning curve.
It was,
uh, I'm glad they were patient
with me.
So Garrett is a former Navy
SEAL, was on the teams with,
uh, Luke and,
uh,
he's troubled. He's got some issues
and what they went through together
back in the day and,
uh, you know,
as he shows back up he's
struggling to deal with all that
and, uh,
Kayce is constantly trying to help
him and let him into that
western lifestyle and what they have
out there as Marshals so it's
a pretty vulnerable character,
you know,
he's had a tough time and
that was a cool thing for
me to try to get into
that position and mentally go there
and, uh,
it was a great character for
me. If he's troubled that means
that maybe you got some fight
scenes?
Potentially it could.
It could get physical,
I don't know.
And do you get to perform
at all on the show?
Yeah, yeah I get to play
a little bit.
Uh, it certainly wasn't built around
my character but Garrett does play
a little guitar and,
uh, it was a cool aspect
to get to throw in there
