Silent Exit

It's 3 a.m. You wake up...

and the house is silent.

Too silent.

Your phone says the power is out.

Then you hear it.

Three slow knocks...

from under the floor.

You grab a flashlight

and step into the hallway.

The knocking stops.

The basement door is open...

it was locked yesterday.

A cold breath of air

drifts up from the dark.

Your flashlight flickers.

Something whispers your name.

Behind you...

the front door unlocks by itself.

Two doors.

One in front.

One behind.

Down in the basement,

the whispering gets louder.

Outside the front door,

someone is breathing.

You have ten seconds to decide.

Option A... go down into the basement.
