Five Stones and a Sling

Yeah, yeah!

From the sheep fields to the throne,

David came through—

Five smooth stones!

David had a harp and a flock to feed,

Little did he know he was built for speed.

Everybody else said, “David,

you’re small,” Then Goliath showed up looking ten feet tall.

Goliath said, “Who are you?” David said,

“Me.” “Just a shepherd boy… but wait and see!” Picked up five

stones, put one in the sling,

Goliath took a nap—David did his thing!

David, David, king of the land,

Harp in his hand and a stone in his hand.

Big-time faith with a shepherd’s style,

Walking through the kingdom with a legendary smile.

He said, “I got five,” but he only needed one,

Goliath went down—battle was done!

From the pasture to the palace,

what a crazy ride,

Everybody make some noise for King David!

Now David’s king, sitting on the throne,

But sometimes he just wanted to be left alone.

He’d play that harp when the day got long,

Probably thinking, “Man, I’m pretty good at this song.” He danced so

hard when the Ark came through,

People looked around like,

“What is he gonna do?” David said,

“I’m celebrating!” and he kept that beat,

King of the kingdom with some serious feet!

Shepherd boy, giant fight,

Harp strings, kingdom lights.

From the field to royalty,

David’s story got history!
