One year on Halloween… I thought it was gonna be a normal
night. Candy,
costumes, scary movies… But I was completely wrong.
I put my costume on at eight,
My friends were waiting at the gate.
We grabbed our bags and headed out,
Laughing,
running all around.
We passed a house with lights turned red,
There was a pumpkin by the shed.
Then suddenly
the lights went out,
And everyone started looking around.
Nobody moved, nobody spoke,
Then from the house came a little smoke.
My friend said, “Guys,
let's go,” But then we heard a voice say—
“Wait!” We turned around,
but no one was there,
Just an empty street
and
freezing air. “Run!” We took off down the road,
But something followed everywhere we went.
It was Halloween, And nothing was what it seemed.
We ran past houses one by one,
Trying to act like we weren't scared at all.
Then my candy bag began to shake,
I dropped it on the ground by mistake.
The bag fell open,
candy everywhere,
But there was something sitting there.
A tiny note with just three words: “See you next year.” (nooo!)
I looked at my friends…
They looked at me…
Nobody knew
What it could mean…
Then the clock struck twelve…
“Wait!”
We turned around, but no one was there,
Just an empty street and freezing air.
“Run!” We took off down the road,
But something followed everywhere we went.
It was Halloween, And nothing was what it seemed.
One
year on Halloween…
We never figured out what happened.
But every October…
We
still check that
house.
