Tender Breath

A flutter of purple through moonlit air,

A gentle smile hiding a weight I must bear.

Too small for the blade that can sever a head,

So I brew sweet nectar of venom instead.

Every drop in my veins is a pledge to the past,

For a sister whose laughter was cut short too fast.

Dance through the night on a butterfly’s wing,

A delicate touch with a lethal sting.

They see only grace in the gentle display,

While Wisteria poison takes breath away.

Fly through the darkness,

serene and precise,

A quiet embrace that comes with a price.

Behind these calm eyes burns a furious sea,

For the monsters who stole what was precious to me.

If I must become the trap and the bait,

I will swallow the wrath and welcome my fate.

No anger in sight,

just a melody soft,

As the insects arise and carry aloft.

The trap is now set,

let the poison run deep,

A promise fulfilled that I swore I would keep.

Though my body may break in the final crusade,

The path to tomorrow

has already been made.

Rest easy now, under dawn's quiet light,

The butterflies softly take flight in the night.

The anger is gone,

and the dark turns to peace...
