I was there at the well,
With a thirst deep inside,
Searching for something
I could never find.
Then a Jewish Man came,
And He looked into me,
He saw my deepest hunger
And my deepest need.
He didn’t need my words,
He already knew my heart.
He saw the empty places
And called me to His heart.
Give me this water,
Lord,
I’m thirsty for You.
I don’t want another source,
I only want You.
I’ve been drinking from broken wells,
But they never satisfied.
Give me the living water,
Lord,
That will never run dry.
He said, “If you knew the gift
That God has given you,
You would ask Me for the water
That gives life anew.”
And I said, “Give me some,
For I’m thirsty in my soul.
I don’t want to search for water
In the places I once went before.”
You saw beyond my past,
You saw beyond my shame.
You found me at the well
And called me by my name.
Give me this water,
Lord,
I’m thirsty for You.
I don’t want another source,
I only want You.
I’ve been drinking from broken wells,
But they never satisfied.
Give me the living water,
Lord,
That will never run dry.
I don’t want the wells of yesterday,
I don’t want what leaves me dry.
I have found the Living Water,
And in You I am alive.
No more searching,
No more running,
No more trying to satisfy
The thirst inside me.
Jesus, You are my fountain,
Jesus, You are my source.
From You flows living water,
And I will thirst no more.
Give me this water,
Lord,
I’m thirsty for You.
I don’t want another source,
I only want You.
Let Your living water
Flow deeply into me.
You are the only fountain,
You are all I need.
I was thirsty at the
well, But You came looking for me.
Now the water that You give Is flowing
inside of me. I don’t need another source.
I don’t need another well.
Jesus, You are the water
That my soul has always needed.
