Morning comes through
unfamiliar windows I watch
the shadows cross the floor
Another day
is waiting for me
But I don’t know
what I’m waiting for I’ve been moving through the motions
Letting every hour pass
Collecting little pieces of a life
I never stopped to ask about
Maybe I don’t need a reason
Maybe I don’t need a sign
Maybe I just need to stop
And listen to my own mind
I want to feel every moment
Even the ones that hurt I want to know that I’m here
Before another day disappears No more standing
at the doorway No more watching from the side
I don’t need to have the answers I just want to feel
alive
I remember all the faces I remember every place
But somewhere between the years I stopped recognizing my own face
So I’ll take the road before me
Even if I walk alone
There’s a difference between being lost
And finally choosing where to go
Let the morning find me waking
Let the years fall where they may
I have spent enough of my life
Waiting for the perfect day
I want to feel every moment Every heartbeat,
every breath
I want to meet the person waiting On the other side of
this
No more standing at the doorway
No more living half inside
I don’t need to have the answers I just want to feel
alive
For once,
I want to be here
When my life begins.
