At the end of the Way,
O, what joy there will be,
When the end of my journey I see,
For my Lord will be there,
Take my hand lead me on,
Through the shadows of God’s setting sun.
Christ, my Lord, I shall see,
When my spirit doth flee;
When the end of my journey I see:
There is peace in the valley awaiting for me;
When the Light of God’s City I see!
City I see… When I meet my dear Lord,
In the sweet by and by,
After while, in the morning,
on High;
With no rivers to cross,
And no burdens to bear,
Not a sigh nor a care will be There.
The Lord Jesus is near,
His believers to bless; Walk with us through the dark wilderness:
Let us lean on the Lord,
Take the Way which He trod;
Heed His Word and the warning of God!
Christ, my Lord, I shall see,
When my spirit doth flee;
When the end of my journey I see:
There is peace in the valley awaiting for me;
When the Light of God’s City I see!
City I see…
