Another morning…
But it never ended.
Sunlight pouring through the window
Like it always does No alarm,
no reason to wake up
We just wake because
Coffee shops are open at midnight
Kids are playing in the streets Nobody asks you what time it
is ‘Cause time don’t mean a thing We built cities underneath the
sunlight
We made the whole world glow But there’s one thing nobody here
remembers… What it’s like when the lights go low
They told us
darkness was dangerous
They told us night was something we outgrew
But sometimes I
close my eyes And wonder if the dark is calling too
NO NIGHT
NO NIGHT! The sun don’t ever say goodbye NO NIGHT NO NIGHT!
There’s nowhere left for shadows to hide We don’t sleep We don’t
stop We keep running till we forget who we are
NO NIGHT NO NIGHT!
Tell me what
it feels like… To
see
the stars.
Somebody found an old photograph
Of a sky completely black Everybody gathered around it
Trying to imagine that They said the stars used to be visible
Millions shining overhead Now we only know them from pictures And stories
people said
There’s a museum in the city
With a room painted black People wait outside for hours Just to
step inside of that And when the door closes behind them Nobody
wants to leave For sixty seconds of darkness… They finally get to
breathe They told us darkness was dangerous
They told us night was something we outgrew
But sometimes I
close my eyes And wonder if the dark is calling too
NO NIGHT NO NIGHT!
The sun don’t ever say goodbye
NO NIGHT NO NIGHT!
There’s nowhere left for shadows to hide We don’t sleep
We don’t stop We keep running till we forget who we are
NO NIGHT
NO NIGHT!
Tell me what it feels like…
To see the
stars.
Maybe darkness isn’t something to fear…
Maybe we need somewhere For the world to disappear.
Maybe that’s why…
We dream with our eyes closed.
NO NIGHT NO NIGHT!
The sun don’t ever say goodbye NO NIGHT NO NIGHT!
But something in us wants the sky We don’t sleep
We don’t stop We keep running till we forget who we are
NO NIGHT
NO NIGHT! And somewhere beyond the sun… There’s a world…
Where the stars still are.
No night…
No silence…
No stars.
Just sunlight.
Forever.
