From the Dark to Glow

(hmmm-mm) Came from the bottom,

had dreams in a backpack,

Nobody gave love, so I learned how to stack that.

Head full of plans,

got my eyes on the big stage,

Turned all the pressure into fuel for the next page.

I don't need luck,

I been making my own,

Had to build a lane when they wouldn't give a road.

They were talking real loud,

I was working real quiet,

Now they see the vision and they asking who designed it.

I remember cold nights,

phone on ten percent,

Still chasing every dollar like the rent wasn't paid yet.

Now I'm looking at the skyline,

thinking, "This mine?" Funny how the same struggle made a young kid

shine.

We came up from the dark,

now we living in the glow,

Had to lose a couple people just to figure where to go.

I been running through the city with my foot up on the

gas, If they thought I wouldn't make it,

tell 'em watch me make it last.

Every scar on my heart turned a lesson into gold,

I ain't scared of getting older—I'm just scared of getting old.

I got goals on goals,

nobody wanted the grind.

I was down bad,

still I carried that pride,

Had a storm in my chest but a fire inside.

Now the beat drops and I black out,

Whole room jumping when the track out.

They counted me out,

that's a fact now,

Funny how they wanna come around when the racks out.

But I keep my circle small,

no fake smiles, Been walking through the rain for a long while.

If I fall, bounce back—that's my lifestyle,

Made it through the worst,

now I'm aiming for the high mile.
