    Reality by T.L. Newton

    CDW composer|1

I used to think of Heaven

As a Realm amid dazzling Light Of Gates of Pearl,

of Streets of Gold And Things All Strange to mortal sight.

But now since I've older grown,

Each passing day it comes more near; For one by one,

    my friends, my own,

Have crossed the Bar and left me here.

Year after year it grows more real,

No thoughts of strangeness wait for me When I embark,

for then I'll hear Familiar Voices well known to me.

Life changes all our thought of Heaven: That is God’s plan for

you and me; For ‘tis the Place we’ll find our own And

    face life’s real Reality.

It seemed such a little way

    To that dear familiar Land.

    My own it seems,

comes near enough To Bathe my brow,

    to Clasp my hand.

If it were not for our veiled eyes We’d find that Heaven

around us lies… And It’s just close by through an Open Door

That stands ajar for you and I.

Our longing hearts desire Home too,

With all the strife and trouble over.

    Where none are sick,

    or poor or lone,

Who anchor safely on The Shore.

Life changes all our thought of Heaven: That is God’s plan for

you and me; For ‘tis the Place we’ll find our own And

    face life’s real Reality.
