The World Below

Down where the sunlight fades away,

We wake beneath the waves.

Coral towers, silver roads,

A thousand lives in hidden homes.

We know the tides,

we know the moon,

We know the songs the whales sing through.

The ocean breathes, the ocean turns,

Our ancient world forever burns—

Not yet. Not here.

Not in our time.

Then something crossed above the blue,

A shadow we had never knew.

A giant shape against the light,

It came from where the stars shine bright.

Why do you enter our world?

You cut through the water,

You tear through the blue.

We watched you from below…

Your ships became our falling storms,

Your anchors tore through ancient homes.

Your engines screamed beneath the tide,

And poisoned everything inside.

We watched your cities grow above,

While plastic drifted through our blood.

Oil spread black across the sea,

And silence followed where life used to be.

You never saw us.

You never cared. You never knew…

We were there.

You called the ocean yours to take,

But every world you touch you break.

You came for fish,

you came for gold,

You never asked what lay below.

We tried to hide.

We tried to flee.

We watched our children lose the sea.

Our reefs are dying.

Our waters black. And every time you take…

You never give it back.

You think we’re monsters because we live below.

But tell me—

Who is destroying our home?

Now we know what you are!

You came into our world,

And you’ve taken it too far!

You poisoned our waters,
