I’ve got a thousand little thoughts
That never make a sound,
I keep them underneath my words So no one looks too closely
now.
I’ve learned to change the subject
When someone asks if I’m okay,
Sometimes saying “I’m alright” Is just the easiest thing to say.
I’m made of moments nobody witnessed,
Dreams I’m still trying to find.
I’ve got a heart that’s been through changes,
But I’m still leaving fear behind.
I don’t need everyone to know me,
I just need to know myself.
I’m taking all these broken pieces
And becoming someone else.
I remember who I used to be,
Before the world felt so loud,
Before I started questioning If I was making people proud.
Now I’m learning that my story
Doesn’t have to stay the same.
I can turn the page tomorrow,
I can choose a different name.
I’m made of moments nobody witnessed,
Dreams I’m still trying to find.
I’ve got a heart that’s been through changes,
But I’m still leaving fear behind.
I don’t need everyone to know me,
I just need to know myself.
I’m taking all these broken pieces
And becoming someone else.
And maybe I won’t have it figured out,
Maybe I’ll still lose my way,
But I’ll give myself permission
To begin again each day.
Because I’m more than what has happened,
More than every yesterday.
There’s still something waiting for me,
And I’m not giving that away.
