No Matter How Far

We shared a room and a hand-me-down bike,

Fought over nothing, made up by the night.

Mom would yell, “Boys,

knock it off,” Then we’d sneak outside and play some ball.

You were the older one,

I followed your lead,

You showed me things I was too young to see.

And somewhere between those backyard days,

You became my best friend along the way.

We’re brothers all the way,

Through the good and the bad days.

Different roads, different dreams,

But you’re still a part of me.

We might not always see eye to eye,

We might go months without a goodbye,

But if you ever need me,

You know where I’ll be.

Then came the years when we started driving,

Staying out late, chasing something exciting.

You had your crowd,
