She walks in when the bell rings,
Sunlight coming through the glass,
I pretend I’m looking at my homework,
But I don’t read a single line in class.
She’s got her friends around her,
Laughing like they always do,
And somehow every Monday morning Feels a little better when I see
you.
I’ve written out a hundred things That I could say to you,
But every time you look my way I forget what I was
gonna do.
You’re three rows over,
And I’m wishing you were closer,
Trying to find the courage
To say what’s on my mind.
Maybe after school,
I’ll finally play it cool,
Walk you to your car And ask if you’d wanna hang sometime.
I don’t know where this goes,
But I hope you never know How many times I smile When
you walk through that door.
You’re three rows over,
And I’m falling more and more.
(more and more) I see your name on my phone
And suddenly I’m wide awake,
Type a message, delete it,
Then type it back again.
My friends say, “Just ask her,” Like it’s easy as can be,
But they don’t understand
What she does to me.
Maybe someday we’ll laugh about The way I couldn’t say hello,
How I spent half the school year Trying to find the right
words to let you know.
Maybe you’ll take my hand,
Maybe we’ll just stay friends,
But either way I’ll always remember Where this little story
began.
You’re three rows over,
But tonight I hope you’re closer.
I’ve got a truck outside
And a radio playing low.
I’ll take a chance tonight,
Maybe everything goes right,
Maybe you’ll smile and say,
“Yeah, I’d like to go.” I don’t know where this goes,
But there’s one thing that I know— Every time you walk my
way, My whole world moves a little slow.
You’re three rows over,
And I’m falling more and more.
Three rows over…
Maybe someday you’ll be sitting next to me.
(sitting next to me)
