(ooh, yeah)
This entire time,
I’ve been writing my wrongs and reading my rights,
Trying to make sense of the lows while I’m reaching for heights,
I was chasing validation,
now I’m seeking advice,
Had to lose who I was just to
see who survived.
I was writing my wrongs,
but I’m reading my rights,
Had the world on my shoulders,
now I’m breathing alright,
I confused being fearless with just feeding my pride,
Now I’m learning that strength ain't always proving you’re right.
I put pain in a page,
put my thoughts in a line,
Used to measure my worth by the things I could find,
Now I’m counting every blessing,
I got time on my side,
Funny how I found my way when I stopped looking for signs.
So if I stumble,
let me stumble,
I’ll get up and adjust,
I ain't running from the past,
I just don't let it be us,
Had to question every version
of the man that I trust,
Now I’m building something real
from the pieces of dust.
(writing my wrongs...
breathing alright)
