Burning Through Silence

Yeah… I’ve been walking through the darkness,

But I was never walking alone.

When the world went cold,

God’s love still burned.

I’ve seen the bottom,

I’ve stared at the floor,

Thought I was too broken to be loved anymore.

Carried my shame like a chain on my chest,

Ran from the truth,

tried to bury the rest.

I made my mistakes,

yeah, I paid those costs,

Lost my direction, thought I was lost.

But when I was drowning in waves of regret,

God reached through the darkness and pulled me from death.

I don’t deserve it,

but still He remains,

Standing beside me

through all of my pain.

When I had nothing,

when I had no light,

He was the fire

that burned through the night.
