Stranded In The Desert

I wake beneath a burning sky,

Endless gold before my eyes.

Sand beneath me, heat above,

No memory of who I was.

I reach inside my empty coat,

Nothing there, not even a note.

No name to hold,

no place to go,

Just endless dunes and falling slow.

I start to walk,

I don’t know why,

Chasing shadows in the light.

Every step just pulls me deeper,

Every breath becomes much weaker.

No road behind me,

No road ahead, Only footprints

Where I’ve tread.

I search my mind,

but nothing stays, Broken pieces,

scattered days. I see a face,

I hear a voice,

Then it fades before I have a choice.

Who was I?

Where did I go?

How did I wake up here alone?

I don’t know, But I can’t stay.

If I stop now,

I’ll fade away. I’m stranded in the desert,

Burning underneath the sun.

No memory of yesterday,

No clue what I’ve become.

I’m stranded in the desert,

And there’s nowhere left to run.

I may not know my name tonight,

But I know I’m not done.

I’ll walk through the heat,

I’ll fight through the pain,

I’ll follow the horizon Again and again.

Even if I lose myself Before this journey ends,

I’ll find out who I was And who I am.

The sky turns red,

the daylight dies, Cold replaces golden skies.

I find a bottle in the sand,

A faded mark upon my hand.

Three little words beneath the dust,

Words that make my heartbeat rush:

Don’t trust yourself. I close my eyes,

I try to see,

A memory comes back to me.

A flashing light, A distant scream,

A room I’ve never seen before,

Or maybe only seen in dreams.

Then silence.

Nothing more.

Who was I? What did I do?

Why does every road lead back to you?

Who are you? Why do I know

That I’ve seen this place before?

Maybe there’s a home somewhere,

Maybe someone knows my name.

Maybe there’s a life behind me,

Maybe nothing stays the same.

But something keeps pulling me,

Something I can’t leave behind.

A voice beneath the silence,

A memory inside my mind.

And then I see it— A light.

Through the heat, Beyond the sand.

I don’t know where it leads me,

But I know I have to stand.

I’m stranded in the desert,

But I’m still beneath the sun.

I don’t know who I used to be,

But I know I’m not done.

I’m stranded in the desert,

And I’ll follow where it leads.

If the answers wait beyond the dunes,

Then that’s where I’ll be.

I’ll follow that distant light Again and again.

I may have lost my memory,
