Chains Of Grace

This is for the ones who think they're too far gone

I was walking through the darkness with a weight on my chest

trying to handle the rest I had scars on my soul,

I had pain in my past Thought the love of God was

something I could never grasp Then Jesus came looking when I couldn't

find my way Called me out of the darkness and into His

grace I expected condemnation,

I expected rejection But He met me with mercy and gave me

direction That's a love I can't explain That's a love that breaks

chains That's a love that finds the lost And pays the ultimate

cost He didn't wait for me to become worthy He came down

when I was dirty Took my shame,

took my sin And showed me where true life begins

Jesus, Your love won't let me go

Through the fire, through the highs and lows When I'm broken,

Your love is still reaching me Jesus,

Your love is stronger than my past Stronger than the chains I

thought would last I can run,

I can hide But Your love keeps calling me back to life

I know what it's like to feel like you're alone Like you've

messed up too much to ever make it home But the cross

tells a different story

Jesus took the shame so He could give you glory

He didn't say my sin didn't matter

He paid the price so I could have a future

Grace isn't weakness, mercy isn't cheap

He gave His life so the lost could be free

Nails through His hands Crown pressed into His head He chose the

cross So I could rise from the dead That's love with a

price That's sacrifice The King of creation Gave His life

So when the enemy reminds me of who I used to be

I point straight to the cross and say,

"Jesus rescued me"

My past doesn't own me My failures don't define me The love

of Christ has completely changed me

Even when I fall You don't walk away

Even when I fail Your mercy remains

When I lose my strength You carry me through

When I don't know the way I can still trust You No

height

No depth

No darkness No death

Can separate me From the love of Christ

Jesus, Your love won't let me go
