I plant, till, harvest,

No college degree is usually required to start,

A high school diploma or GED can play a part.

I check and repair machines,

watch gauges and sound,

Attach tools, harvest crops,

and keep the farm safe and sound.

I need knowledge of mechanics,

math, safety, and production,

Plus transportation, processing, and communication.

I need listening, thinking,

monitoring, and troubleshooting skills,

Good coordination, vision, reaction time,

and machine-handling abilities.
