I don’t say too much,
you already know
I’ve never been the one for words
I keep my feelings somewhere inside And sometimes leave them unheard
But then I saw you for the first time
In Camden
And for someone who doesn’t speak much
You left me with nothing to say
You took my breath away,
I couldn’t find the words
I thought I’d seen beautiful before
But I’d never seen you first
Karima,
my special one You changed my life without even trying
You became my home,
you became my heart You gave my life a different meaning We
may be different in so many ways But somehow we fit just
right
You’re the part of me I never knew I needed
The one who makes me whole inside
Two strangers in 2009
You were shy and I was nervous But Allah had written you
for me
May
2010, we became husband and wife I remember how nervous you were
You didn’t just become my wife
You became a part of my deen
And Allah brought us both together
When He knew what I would need
Karima,
my special one You completed half my deen
You helped me find my way to Allah And become the man
I want to be
I barely prayed before I met you
Now missing Salah cuts me deep
And I thank Allah for the woman Who helped awaken my heart
to Him
I remember Beijing, the Great Wall of China You were frightened on
the cable car Hong Kong and that special song We’ve travelled further
than we knew And then came the moment I’ll never forget
Standing before the Kaaba with you Seeing that House for the very
first time
Knowing Allah had brought us there After everything we’d travelled After everything
we’d seen There we stood together In the holiest place we’d ever
been Karima, my special one,
If I could relive every day
I’d still choose the road that led to you I’d still choose
you the same way
From Camden to the Kaaba From strangers to husband and wife
Allah knew what He was doing When He brought you into my
life
I won’t forget getting lost in Mina
All those long walks to the Mosque Our feet were tired,
the nights were long But somehow we’d still smile Because every step
we took together
Made every hardship worthwhile
We’ve had our fights,
We’ve had our pain
We’ve had to find our strength again
But every time the world got heavy
You were there beside me
You’re loving, kind and caring Beautiful and selfless too The perfect mother
to our children Zara,
Maya, Ali, Sofia and Zeyna too
Five little blessings in our lives Five pieces of me and you
Karima,
my special one
You completed half my deen
And showed me what true love can mean
I don’t say “I love you” enough But if you could see
inside my heart
You’d know
just how much I do
I don’t say much… You know that’s just me
But the day I saw you in Camden
You left me speechless… And all these years later.
You still do. May Allah keep us together
In this life…& reunite us in Jannah.
