(hummmmm) (ahhhh) I wake up and the room feels smaller,
same four walls, same heavy air
Everybody asks me how I'm doing,
I say I'm fine because I'm scared
I put a smile on when I need to,
say I'm good so they don't ask
Then I'm alone with all my thoughts again,
trying not to crack beneath the mask
I've been trying to breathe,
trying not to sink But every time I get a little free
Something pulls me back again
I feel trapped inside my own life,
like I'm watching from behind a glass
Every day feels like the same night,
and I'm tired of pretending it will pass
I don't wanna feel this heavy,
I don't wanna hurt this much
I just wanna wake up one morning
and not feel like I'm stuck
There's a thousand thoughts inside my bedroom,
and they never let me sleep
They remind me of the things I'm missing,
all the promises I couldn't keep
I've gotten good at disappearing
without ever leaving home I can sit inside a crowded room and
somehow still feel all alone And I hate that I'm so used
to it, that the sadness feels like mine Like I should know
how to escape it when I can't even find the sign
I've been trying to breathe,
trying to believe
That maybe there's a version of me who doesn't feel this endlessly
Maybe I'm not broken,
maybe I'm just tired Maybe I've been carrying more than I was
ever meant to carry Maybe somewhere underneath all the noise inside my
head There's still a little piece of me that wants to see
what happens next I don't know when it gets better,
I don't know when I'll feel free But I know there has
to be a morning that feels different than these
I feel trapped inside my own life,
but trapped doesn't mean forever
Maybe there's a door I haven't found,
maybe I'll find it when I'm ready
I don't need to have the answers,
I don't need to know how much
I just need to keep on breathing till this feeling isn't so
much
Same four walls, same lonely nights But somewhere past this sadness there's
still a little light I'm still here,
I'm still trying Even when my heart feels tired,
even when I'm barely smiling Maybe someday I'll look around and recognize
the life I'm in Maybe someday these walls won't feel like they're
closing in For now I'll take another breath,
let another morning come I may feel trapped,
I may feel broken,
but I'm not finished becoming someone
