Was it easy for Jesus from Heaven to come,
Come down to a world of woe;
To be lonely and homesick for His Heavenly Home,
Could not be easy I know.
If you truly love Jesus believe and find rest,
Fear not then be unafraid;
You can surely abide in His fellowship sweet,
On Him if thy soul is stayed.
Was it easy for Jesus to linger and pray,
Alone in the garden for me;
While so deeply the darkness over shadowed the day,
My Savior His Father obeys.
Walk closely with Him through the shadows of night,
Trust only in His embrace;
And your heart will be filled with the Heavenly Light,
Secure in His saving grace.
Was it easy for Jesus to Calvary go,
To carry His cross for me;
To be weary and suffering for me so,
To bear my sin on the tree.
When the shadows fall heavy and trials arise,
Look up to His Throne of Grace; In the quiet assurance of
mercy Divine,
Behold His unchanging Face.
