Lies Cut Deeper

Yeah... Truth hurts.

Lies destroy.

One cuts you once—

The other keeps bleeding you slowly.

A lie starts small,

just a whisper in the dark,

But give it enough time and it'll tear a world apart.

One false word can turn a friend into a stranger,

One secret kept hidden can put everybody in danger.

You look somebody dead in the eyes and you lie,

They believe every word while you're watching them cry.

Maybe you think you're protecting them from pain,

But the truth always comes knocking like thunder in the rain.

Trust is a glass,

and a lie is a stone,

You can pick up the pieces,

but the cracks still show.

You can say you're sorry,

swear you'll never do it again,

But some wounds leave scars long after they mend.

And that's the thing about words—we don't see where they go,

Could save somebody's life or destroy someone's soul.

A compliment can lift someone who's ready to fall,

But one cruel lie can make them question it all.

Truth can hurt, but lies cut deeper,

Truth wakes you up,

while lies make you weaker.

One builds trust, one tears it apart,

One speaks to your soul,

one poisons the heart.

Tell me the truth,

even if it breaks me,

I'd rather face reality than live in a fake dream.

Because lies might hide the pain for a minute or two,

But eventually the truth comes looking for you.

I've seen lies turn families into enemies,

Seen rumors destroy friendships that were built on memories.

Seen somebody believe they're worthless from a word,

While the person who said it doesn't know the damage they've caused.

That's why I think twice before I open my mouth,

Because words don't disappear when the sound fades out.

You can apologize, but you can't erase the past,

Can't unbreak a heart once the damage is cast.

Some people lie because they're scared of the truth,

Some lie for attention,

some lie for the proof That they can control what everybody believes,

Building fake realities just so they can feel seen.

But eventually the mask starts slipping away,

And the truth walks in like the light of day.

Everything hidden eventually gets exposed,

And the weight of deception is a heavy-ass load.

What happens when nobody knows who to believe?

When every promise sounds like another trick to deceive?

When you can't tell love from manipulation anymore,

And every knock at the door feels like another war?

That's what lies do.

They don't just change the story.

They change people.

Truth ain't always pretty,

truth ain't always kind,

Sometimes truth is the hardest thing you'll ever find.

But I'd rather have a painful truth in my hands Than a

beautiful lie controlling who I am.

Because truth gives you something lies never can— A chance to heal,

a chance to understand.

You can face what's broken,

you can finally repair,

You can stop pretending that nothing was ever there.

So if I hurt you,

I'ma tell you what I did,

No excuses, no hiding,

no bullshit to defend.

If I love you,

I'ma say it, if I don't,

I'll be straight, Because honesty is better than pretending it's fate.

And if somebody lies,

let 'em carry that weight,

I won't destroy myself trying to change their mistakes.

I can forgive without believing everything they say,

I can walk away and still choose a better way.
