    Grandma’s Potato Groove

    Jessica Gonzales

Yo, yo, yo! Everybody better move out the way,

Grandma just walked in the kitchen today!

She’s 64 and still running the show,

With potato salad and sweet tea in tow!

She got one thing on her mind,

    POTATO SALAD… AND SOME TEA!

Grandma wake up, “Where my tea at?”

    Lookin’ in the fridge like,

“Who drank that?” She got potato salad sitting on the plate,

Touch it without asking—better seal your fate!

She got the spoon in her hand,

    She’s guarding that bowl,

    “Who ate my potato salad?”

    Grandma losing control!

She said, “I made this for everybody,

    But don’t take too much!”

Then she fills up her plate

With a mountain and a bunch!

Potato salad! Give Grandma her tea!

She’s 64 and still the queen,

So everybody better let her be!

If you mess with that bowl,

    You better run and flee!

    Potato salad in the kitchen,

    Sweet tea by her side,

Grandma says, “That’s MINE!” And everybody better step aside!

    Grandma sitting in her chair,

    Sippin’ tea like a queen,

64 years young, Living her best life scene!

    Potato salad on her lap,

    She’s smiling with pride,

With her sweet tea beside her,

    She’s enjoying the ride!

Somebody says, “Grandma, can I have some?” She says,

“Sure, baby… just a little.” Then she looks at the bowl like—

    “WAIT! You took too much!”

    She counting every scoop,

    One, two, three, four,

five, “Put that potato back!” Girl,

    that salad’s still alive!

    No steak, no chicken,

No fancy cuisine, Grandma wants potatoes

And tea so sweet it’ll make you lean!

At 64, she knows the deal,

She knows exactly what she likes:

A big bowl of potato salad

    And sweet tea on ice!

    If Grandma says, “Come eat,”

    You better get there fast,

Because five minutes later That potato salad’s GONE!

    POTATO SALAD! SWEET TEA TOO!

Grandma’s 64 and still got flavor,

And she ain’t sharing with you!

    Potato salad in the

    bowl, Tea inside the cup,

Grandma takes one little sip— Then she says,

    “FILL IT UP!”

    So cheers to Grandma,

    The 64-year-old potato salad queen!

With her sweet tea beside her,

    Living that grandma dream!
