Yeah… Same heart…
Different view.
Funny how you can have everything
And still miss what you had.
I remember late nights when you used to call Two hours on
the phone, talking ‘bout it all Back when every little problem felt
like something we could solve Now I see your name light up
and I don’t answer at all I was chasing every dream,
you were waiting at home Telling me,
“Take your time, you don’t have to do it alone” I kept
saying, “When I make it,
we can finally breathe” Didn’t realize you needed more than something I
could achieve Now the city knows my name,
but that’s nothing new ‘Cause the person I wanted beside me isn’t
standing in the room Everybody says they’re proud,
everybody wants a piece But success got real quiet when I needed
some peace Maybe I’m different now
Maybe I had to be
I stopped chasing everybody Who never stayed for me
I’m different now, different now Same heart,
but I see things different now Same me,
but I don’t see you the same Some things change and some
things don’t change
I’m different now, different now I learned who stays when the lights
go down I still got love,
but I know my worth And I won’t lose myself just to
make this work Different now…
Yeah, I’m different now.
Same heart… Different city…
Different nights… Different now.
I remember your apartment,
that little couch You’d tell me everything you were thinking about We
didn’t have much, but somehow that was enough Now I got more
than we dreamed, and somehow it’s not I ain’t saying you’re wrong,
I’m just saying we’re changed Some memories stay beautiful even when people
don’t stay I could call you right now,
but what would I say?
“Hey, I miss who we were”?
That’s not who we are today I learned money can’t fix what
money didn’t break Can’t buy back trust,
can’t make old feelings stay And I spent so much time trying
to prove I was enough I forgot the person beside me already
gave me their love So I don’t
hold a grudge, I don’t wish you bad I just wish we
knew how good we had it when we had it Maybe in
another life, maybe somewhere down the road But tonight I’m learning how
to let the past let go Maybe I’m different now
Maybe that’s the truth
I had to lose a little
Just to find a better view
Maybe I should’ve listened
When you said I was too distant
Maybe you were right Maybe I was too busy trying to build
a life You wanted my time I wanted the future
We both had good intentions
But intentions don’t always save us And I can’t change that… So
I let it go.
I’m different now, different now Same heart,
but I see things different now I still remember every word you
said But I don’t live inside those memories anymore I’m different now,
different now I found my peace when I stopped looking around I
still got love for the person you became But I finally learned
to love myself the same
Different now…
Same heart, different city,
different nights
Same me, but I don’t see you in the same light Different
now…
Yeah, I’m different now.
I hope you’re doing alright… I really do.
Same heart.
Different view. Different now.
