Who gave me the keys?

Why is there a toddler in my living room?

Why is my coffee cold?

I wake up in the morning,

hair pointing to the sky,

Got yesterday’s shirt on,

and I don’t know why.

Coffee in my left hand,

chaos in my right,

I’m fighting with a laundry pile like it’s Saturday night!

My phone says, “You got messages,” My brain says,

“Not today.”

The dog wants some attention,

The bills want me to pay!

I’m walking through the kitchen Like a hero on a quest,

But somehow I forgot Why I even left my bed!

Then we start laughing

While I burn the toast.

The little guy comes running,

Like a tiny hurricane,

Five seconds of silence Means he’s probably on a train!

Toys are on the ceiling,

Crayons on the floor,

I swear I cleaned this room About a minute ago!
