Yeah… This one’s for my mom.

For everything you’ve done,

For every time you stayed,

Even when things got hard.

I hope you know I see it now.

I remember all the days you were working so hard,

Trying to keep us together when the world got dark.

You never needed praise,

never asked for a crown,

you never let us down.

But everything you taught me

Is helping me become a man.

“Mom, you’re the reason why.”

If I could give you everything you gave to me,

And wherever this life takes me to,

I’ll always be thankful for you.

You taught me to keep going when I wanted to quit,

Taught me that falling doesn’t mean that’s it.

You showed me that strength isn’t never being weak,

It’s getting back up when life gets hard to beat.

There were days I didn’t understand your pain,

Days when you smiled while standing in the rain.

Now I’m getting older and I’m starting to see How much of

yourself you gave to me.

Every meal, every ride,

every word that you said,

Every time you checked if I was safe in my bed.

All those little moments I used to ignore,

Are the things that I appreciate more and more.

One day I’m gonna make you proud,

I’m gonna say your name out loud.

When people hear the songs I sing,

I want them to know who gave me everything.

And if the lights are shining bright,

I’ll remember you were there before the lights.

Before the stage, before the fame,

You loved me before anybody knew my name.
