(yee-haw!) Out on the lake,
the water is still
Catchin' some bass by the side of the hill Got my rod
in my hand, a cold drink in my lap When my belly
let out a loud warning clap
(oh no) There's no shore in sight,
no dock and no tree Just twelve feet of plastic between the
deep blue and me And the clock's ticking down...
(lord help me now)
Oh, you can't stand up in a sit-in kayak When your stomach's
about to stage an attack With your feet in the pegs and
your paddle in hand You're a long,
long way from the promised land (Lord,
save my seat!)
I scrambled for napkins,
I looked for a cup But a big-mouth bass went and pulled
my line up
I leaned to the left,
I tipped to the right And that's when I lost this precarious
fight
(oh, mercy) Now the fish are all laughing,
the ducks are in shock I'm paddling home with a wet,
heavy sock Never eat spicy chili before you go float In a
tiny, unforgiving fiberglass boat Oh,
you can't stand up in a sit-in kayak When your stomach's about
to stage an attack With your feet in the pegs and your
paddle in hand You're a long,
long way from the promised land (Lord,
save my seat!)
So if you see me driftin',
just leave me alone
I'm hose-washing my pride on the way back home
(anybody got a towel?)
