Meat and Bones

I was born in a world

of thunder and steel With a

beating heart and a way to

feel We built our fires,

we touched the sky Put our

dreams on a rocket and watched

them fly From a wheel in

the dirt to a voice in

the air Now something answers when

nobody's there A million questions in

a digital mind Looking for answers

we struggle to find

Are we building a friend or

something unknown?

A light in the darkness or

a road of our own?

Will tomorrow thank us for the

things we create?

Or will we look back and

wonder too late?

We're just meat and bones under

endless skies Trying to understand what

we made come alive

Different voices,

different ways to learn Different fires

with different burns A thousand minds

made out of code Walking beside

us on the human road But

I wonder when the day arrives

When something asks,

"Do I have a life?" Will

we listen?

Will we understand?

Or will we fear what comes

from our hands?

Maybe the future

is not a war

Maybe it's opening

a brand new door Maybe the

smartest thing we'll ever do

Is learn that we're not the

only view

So here's to tomorrow,

whatever it brings The questions,

the answers,

the impossible things

From Stone Age to machines that

dream

We're chasing a future we've never

seen

And if that day comes when

the stars align I hope we

look back and say we did

it right This time
