Reign of the Rider

The chapter opens with a loud voice of much people in heaven,

Rejoicing, shouting, “Alleluia; salvation,

glory, honour, and power are God’s given.

For true and righteous are His judgments,

avenging the blood of His servants shed." The smoke of Babylon's ruin

rises forever, the harlot’s corruption now dead.

The twenty-four elders and four living creatures bow in agreement,

saying,

“Amen; Alleluia,” in heaven’s endless,

wondrous praising.

A voice from the throne calls,

“Praise our God, all ye His servants,

And ye that fear Him,

small and great," resounding His marvellous presence.

Heaven’s chorus resounds like mighty waters,

mighty thunderings declare, “Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigned,

fair and square. Let us be glad and rejoice in His bridal

feast, For the marriage of the Lamb has come,

and His wife has made herself of leaven released.” (Alleluia,

yeah!)

Her garments pure and white,

representing righteousness of saints displayed,

Blessed are those called to the marriage supper,

in holiness arrayed. John falls at the angel’s feet to worship,

but he is gently chastised,

“Worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy,”

realized.

(Aha, play it!)

Heaven opens, revealing a rider on a white horse,

blazing with might, Faithful and True,

judging and making war in righteousness's light.

His eyes aflame, many crowns upon His head,

a name written unknown,

Clad in a vesture dipped in blood,

His name is called "The Word of God," not overthrown.

The armies of heaven follow,

clothed in fine linen white and clean,

Out of His mouth a sharp sword goes,

smiting nations with righteous sheen.

He rules with a rod of iron,

treading the winepress of God’s wrath alone,

On His vesture and thigh,

a name written, “KING OF KINGS,

AND LORD OF LORDS," He has shown.

Almighty God, we praise Your holy name as we reflect upon the

victorious imagery of Revelation 19.

In the triumph of our Lord Jesus Christ,

we find hope and assurance.

May our lives echo the praises of heaven and align with the

righteousness of the Lamb.

Strengthen us to live faithfully,

ever ready to take part in the eternal celebration with our Saviour.
