Babylon’s Broken Throne
(yeah) John is approached by one of the seven angels who had the
seven bowls, saying Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment
of the great whore,
displaying She who sits on many waters,
with whom kings of the earth have committed fornication
Inhabitants of the earth,
intoxicated with her wine of abomination
MYSTERY,
BABYLON THE GREAT THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS (oh yeah,
she sits on the waters) Her fate is sealed,
the judgment awaits John is carried away in the Spirit into the
wilderness scene
To witness a woman on a scarlet-colored beast,
oh so mean
It is full of names of blasphemy,
seven heads, and ten horns Adorned with purple and scarlet,
golden adornments she adorns
A golden cup in her hand,
full of abominations and impurities she does hold Upon her forehead a
name inscribed, reading bold
Drunk with the blood of saints,
the martyrs of Jesus,
John marvels at her sight
Yet the angel questions his wonder,
guiding him to insight
The beast she rides once was,
is not, and will ascend again
Destined for destruction, its followers' hearts shall remain
The seven heads are seven mountains,
and on them the woman sits in mandate
They are also seven kings,
of which five are fallen,
one is, another to come late
Ten horns seen are ten kings yet to receive their power
They rally around the beast,
agreeing to lend their hour These wage war against the Lamb,
but He claims victory
For He is the Lord of lords,
King of kings, empowered in His decree The waters she sits are
peoples and multitudes in their expanse
The beast and kings intend her ruin,
fulfilling divine sentence The woman,
symbolized as the great city ruling earthly scene Sways nations in deceit,
yet her downfall is foreseen
Heavenly Father, in the enigmatic depiction of Revelation seventeen,
grant us wisdom and discernment
To recognize and resist the seductive allure of worldly powers
May we remain steadfast in our commitment to righteousness
Standing firm in the faith of the Lamb who triumphs
Keep our hearts aligned with Your truth,
and guard us against deceit
Amen
