(yeah) (scratching sounds)
(check it out)
The vision unfolds with a beast rising from the sea's midst,
It has seven heads,
ten horns, diadems of authority,
and marks to resist.
Like a leopard in form,
with bear’s feet and a lion’s mouth,
The dragon grants it power,
intentions of the rebellious south.
One head bears a deadly wound,
yet healed, inciting awe; All the world marvels,
they follow the beast with raucous draw.
“Who is like the beast?” they cry,
“Who can make war with such might?” Given a mouth to speak
great things and blasphemies in God's sight.
(ooh yeah) Those not written in the Lamb's book worship the beast’s
sway, Hearts of allegiance hardened,
stumbling along estranged paths of dismay. (whoa-oh)
For forty-two months, it exercises power,
raising defiance’s day, Blaspheming God’s name and His tabernacle,
where worshipers lay. It wages war against the saints,
prevailing in seasons drear,
Authority over all tongues and nations,
it commands with fear.
From the
earth, another beast rises,
lamb-like with a dragon’s speech,
It enforces
worship of
the first beast, extending its reach.
Performing miracles, making fire come down in heaven’s sight,
Deceiving earth’s dwellers, by signs and power,
it impresses its might.
Telling all to make an image,
to the first beast it conforms,
Granting it breath to speak and command death,
above all norms. The small and the great,
rich and poor alike,
find identity and mark,
Without it, commerce halts,
society stark; it leaves its mark.
(ooh yeah) Those not written in the Lamb's book worship the beast’s
sway, Hearts of allegiance hardened,
stumbling along estranged paths of dismay. (whoa-oh)
Heavenly Father, grant us discernment and steadfast faith.
Help us to remain true,
ever anchored in Your love.
Amen. (hmmmmm)
