(yeah) (represent) A great sign appears in heaven,
a woman clothed in the sun’s light,
The moon beneath her feet,
with twelve stars as her crown,
radiant and bright.
She is with child,
crying in birth pangs and travail,
A dragon waits to devour the child,
but its plans will fail.
Her child
caught up to God’s throne,
safety in the divine embrace;
The woman flees to the wilderness,
a prepared place of sustaining grace.
(oh yeah, sustaining grace) The dragon,
great and fiery red,
with seven heads and ten horns,
His tail sweeps a third of the stars,
casting them as prey,
forlorn. He stands before the woman ready to consume,
as she groans in labor’s strain,
But she gives birth to a man-child,
destined to rule with iron's reign.
Michael and his angels wage war,
as heaven’s forces compel,
The dragon fights but fails,
cast out, no longer to dwell.
The accuser of brethren,
hurled down with fury and ire; Rejoicing in heaven,
the victory claimed
through the Lamb’s blood,
their desire.
Her child
caught up to God’s throne,
safety in the divine embrace;
The woman flees to the wilderness,
a prepared place of sustaining grace.
(sing it loud) Though woe to the earth,
for the devil descends with wrath,
Knowing his time is short,
he intensifies his craft.
The dragon aims to persecute the woman,
but she is given wings to fly,
Into the wilderness, where she is nourished and shielded under the Most
High.
O Lord of Hosts,
strengthen us to remain faithful. (amen)
