(aw yeah) (uh-huh) (ahhhhh-yeah)
A mighty angel descends from heaven,
clothed in cloud’s embrace,
A rainbow crowns his head,
his face excels like the sun’s grace.
His feet pillars of fire,
in majesty he stands,
Holding a little book open in his hands.
He sets his right foot upon the sea,
and left upon the land,
With a lion's roar,
he cries, bringing seven thunders’ command.
John prepares to write what thunders awoke,
But a voice from heaven
bids him seal what they spoke.
(Revelation!) Sweet to taste,
yet bitter in his belly's seat.
(Oh,
the sweetness of prophecy!) The weight
of its message, and inevitable reality.
The angel raises his hand to heaven’s height,
Swearing by the Creator,
in whom all is right.
Declaring no more time;
the mystery of God will fulfill,
Prophets’ words will come true,
according to His will.
The voice commands John to take the book and eat,
John eats
and is told to prophesy anew,
About peoples, nations, and kings in view.
His task,
to declare God’s unveiled plan,
Speaking truth in love to every woman and man.
Heavenly Father, grant us understanding of Your Word.
May its sweetness guide us,
and its weight inspire us.
Empower us with courage
to proclaim Your gospel,
standing firm in Your promises.
Amen.
(Amen, yeah...)
