Yeah,
yeah Come on
(oooh-yeah) Silence holds heaven
for a half hour A pause of profound anticipation,
before God’s power
Seven angels stand
before the throne With trumpets ready
to make His glory known!
With the seventh seal opened,
silence holds heaven tight A pause of anticipation before the show of
holy might Seven angels stand designated before the throne Given seven trumpets,
their purpose to make known
Another angel with a golden censer comes to contribute At the altar,
offering incense with prayers in absolute From the saints' hands,
prayers rise as incense sweet Ascending to God,
a holy fragrance they complete
The angel fills the censer with altar fire's thrust Casts it to
earth — birthing thunder,
lightning, quakes of dust A symbol of response to the faithful multitudes
God’s active involvement among the earth’s attitudes With trumpets in hand,
the angels prepare to sound The first trumpet brings hail and fire
mixed with blood around A third of trees and green grass seized
in its wrath Nature reels at its loss,
opening a desolated path
(Hear the trumpet sound!) The second angel’s trumpet releases a fiery mountain
into the seas A third of the sea turns blood,
with life and ships as casualties
A testament to humanity’s disruption of nature’s core Consequences revealed in creation’s
deepening roar!
The third trumpet sees a great star,
Wormwood it is named From heaven it falls,
bitterness and rivers claimed Waters turn bitter,
lives lost to the pure no more Highlighting consequences of sin in
metaphor The fourth trumpet rings,
striking celestial heights A third of the sun,
moon, stars lose their lights In darkness enveloped,
day and night decline Creation itself bears witness to the divine design
God of all creation,
help us discern the signs And respond with faithful hearts through all
of these times Guide us to live as faithful stewards of Your
world Honoring You in all we do Amen (ahhh-amen)
