The Lamb opens the first seal,
a voice like thunder calls,
Behold, a white horse emerges,
and the rider conquers as he gallantly hauls.
With a bow and a crown,
he rides forth to conquer still,
A symbol of conquest and the ambition of human will.
(conquer still)
The second seal breaks,
and a fiery red horse appears,
Its rider takes peace from the earth,
bringing strife and fears.
With a great sword granted to him,
wars and conflict ignite,
Symbolizing human violence and the strivings that bring fright.
(strife and fears)
The third seal is opened,
revealing a black horse in its place,
The rider holding scales,
marking scarcity's trace. Voice speaks of the cost of wheat and barley,
precious yet sparse, A measure of economic hardship,
in a world so harsh.
(so harsh)
With the fourth seal,
a pale horse rides forth,
Its rider named Death,
and Hades follows close in the course.
Authority over a fourth of the earth to kill with sword and
more, The harsh impact of famine,
disease, and war. (famine and war)
The fifth seal reveals souls under the altar's crest,
Martyrs of the faith,
in white robes they rest.
“How long, O Lord,
holy and true?” they plead,
God's promise of justice assures them,
He will indeed.
The sixth seal ushers a great earthquake and sights,
The sun turns black,
the moon red, amid terrifying flights.
Stars fall to the earth,
as heaven's powers are shaken,
Kings and mighty, great and small,
their refuge taken.
(shaken down)
O Sovereign Lord, anchor my heart in Your promises.
Your justice and mercy remain my hope.
Empower me to endure as a witness of Your grace and love.
Amen. (oooh)
