In the hand of Him on the throne,
a scroll Written within and on the back,
seven seals to unroll A mighty angel proclaimed with voice so bright
“Who is worthy to open the scroll and give us sight?”
(give us sight) No one in heaven,
nor on earth, could take a stand To open the scroll or
look at what was planned John wept much,
for no one was found worthy indeed When an elder offered words
to meet the heart’s need
(meet the need) “Behold,
the Lion of Judah prevails The Root of David,
His victory never fails” In the midst of the throne,
a Lamb, as if slain With seven horns and eyes,
bearing truth’s reign
(worthy is the Lamb)
The Lamb took the scroll,
a new song was sung “Worthy is the Lamb,” praises have begun
He has redeemed us by His blood,
from every tribe and tongue Made us kings and priests,
in His kingdom we belong
(we belong)
Thousands upon thousands, the heavenly host cries “Worthy is the Lamb,” heaven’s
anthem replies “Blessing and honor and glory and power be To Him
who sits on the throne,
and the Lamb,
eternally” (eternally)
The living creatures say,
“Amen,” with the elders they bow In worshipful surrender,
before His presence, we now
Precious Lamb of God,
thank You for Your sacrifice
We stand amazed, strengthen our hearts until the end Amen
(ahhh,
amen)
