I spent years trying to become what they wanted,

Wearing different faces just to feel important,

Chasing somebody else's picture of success,

Until I realized it never made me feel blessed.

I don't need their life,

I don't need their road,

I don't need to carry somebody else's load,

I just need to become the man I respect,

The kind who keeps his word and never forgets.

I don't need to be them,

I just need to be me,

Strong enough to choose what I believe,

I stopped comparing, stopped keeping score,

And started becoming what I was searching for.

My journey doesn't have to look like theirs,

My dreams don't need to fit their stairs,

If I wake up knowing I gave my best,

Then I can leave the rest to time and let it rest.

I don't need to be them,

I just need to be me,

Strong enough to choose what I believe,

I stopped comparing, stopped keeping score,

And started becoming what I was searching for.

Now I'm building without pretending,

Growing without constantly defending,
