Kings of Wisdom

He that's often reproved,

his neck hard, Shall suddenly be broken,

without guard. When the righteous thrive,

people's joy is nigh,

But when wicked rule,

men sigh and cry.

Who loves wisdom brings delight to dad,

But companions of harlots leave wealth sad.

By justice, a king builds the land’s base,

But one who takes bribes breaks its place.

Trust in the Lord,

safe evermore! (safe evermore)

An unjust man is an abomination found,

But the upright stand on solid ground!

Flattery trips neighbours with feet inside,

But righteous seek justice with no lie.

Mockers stir a city,

bring no cheer, Wise men turn away wrath,

settle fear. Bloodthirsty men hate the upright seed,

But the just seek to set them free indeed.

A fool vents all his heart's flair,

But wise people bring peace with care.

Trust in the Lord,

If a ruler listens to false tales sound,

All his servants will be wicked-bound.

The poor and oppressor meet in sight,

The Lord gives both vision and light.

A king who’s faithful judges the plot,

His throne established on the people's thought.

A rod and reproof bring wisdom's way,

But a child left to himself brings shame today.

Where no vision is,

people unchain, Correct your son,

give wisdom a chance.

Do you see a man hasty in his words?

Pride brings low, but humility is heard.

Lord Jesus, You are the King

who rules justly and lights our way.

Teach us to trust in You.

Let us walk humbly with You.

Our hearts find salvation through Your loving grace.
