Riches imagined as a fortified town,

A high wall in dreams,

Humility paves the way to intervene.

Answer before listening brings him shame,

Obtaining favour from the Lord’s care.

The poor are entreating in their tune,

While the rich use harsh words to impugn.

A friend loves closer than a brother's name,

Sticks through times of joy and shame.

Lord Jesus, You are our strong tower and refuge.

We bring our hearts and words to You.

Guide us toward the salvation found in You.
