(yeah, yeah)
The plans of the heart belong to man,
But the answer's from God,
it's His grand plan.
All a man's ways are clean in his sight,
But the Lord weighs motives,
making them right. Commit to the Lord what you plan to do,
And your paths are established,
it's true.
(Ooh, yeah, yeah) Better a little with rightness to stand,
Than wealth gained with injustice in hand.
The heart of man
plans his way, But the Lord directs each step,
each day.
The Lord detests the proud heart,
indeed, Be sure their punishment is guaranteed.
With mercy and truth,
sin's covered, Fear of the Lord makes evil discovered.
When a man's ways please the Lord above,
Even his enemies live in peace and love.
Wisdom gainer’s more precious than gold,
Understanding’s riches untold.
The highway of the upright turns aside,
From the path of evil,
where folly's denied. Pride’s before destruction's wake,
An arrogant spirit before the fall's stake.
Sweetness of speech increases learning,
To the soul, it's peace returning.
There's a way that seems right to every man,
But its end leads to death’s land.
(no other way, no other way) Grey hair’s a crown of beauty
and might, Gained by a righteous life's light.
Better patience, conquering the spirit trend,
Than a warrior who conquers and mends.
The lot is cast into the lap,
But every decision's the
Lord’s map.
Lord Jesus, High King,
we bring our plans to You,
knowing that You direct our steps
and guide our way.
May our lives reflect Your peace and purpose.
In Your saving name,
Amen.
(Amen, amen)
