A wise woman builds her house with care,

But folly tears it down then and there.

Walks upright, fears the Lord with might,

But despise Him and you're lost from sight.

Talk of fools brings a rod of pride,

The lips of the wise keep them on the side.

Where there are no oxen,

the crib’s clean,

But strength of an ox brings crops unseen.

A faithful witness does not lie,

But false ones utter deceit,

oh my! A mocker seeks wisdom but finds none,

While knowledge to the wise is easily spun.

Stay away from a fool’s domain,

No knowledge dwells within his brain.

The wisdom of the prudent is straightforward,

But folly deceives and keeps you wayward.

Fools mock when guilt is shown,

Among the upright, favour is known.

The heart knows its own sorrow,

deep and wide, Nor can another share its pride.

The house of the wicked crumbles away,

But upright tents flourish and stay.

There is a way that seems right so wide,

But in the end is death's dark side.

In laughter, pain may disguise,

The heart's joy or hidden cries.

(hidden criiiies, yeah) Short-tempered men do foolish deeds,

Those who scheme detest good seeds.

Simpletons inherit mere folly indeed,

But the prudent embrace knowledge to lead.

Evil men bow to the good someday,

Wicked at the gates will lay.

In hard work, there's profit steep,

Idle talk leads to poverty deep.

Wealth of the wise is their crown,

Fooling is folly in all renown.

Lord Jesus,

we come seeking Your wisdom and grace,

as shown in Proverbs 14.

Help us to build our lives on Your truth,

walking in fear of the Lord.

Deliver us from foolishness

and lead us into life everlasting,
