(mmm-hmm) A false balance is God’s disdain,

But a just weight brings no shame.

When pride arrives, then disgrace follows swift,

But with the humble,

wisdom gives a lift.

Integrity guides the honest soul,

The crooked are destroyed,

taking their toll.

Riches don’t profit in the day of wrath,

But righteousness shows a clear path.

The blameless and upright walk secure,

While wickedness leads to detours impure.

Righteousness rescues when troubles unfold,

(yeah) The treacherous are caught in their own bold.

The wicked’s hope perishes with their breath,

Placing their trust in riches leads to death.

The righteous delivered from harm’s way,

And the wicked take their place today.

By the blessing of the upright,

exaltation comes, But the city falls by the wicked's drums.

Whoever lacks sense despises their neighbour’s tune,

But a sensible man

holds peace in room.

One who’s surety for a stranger lacks care,

But whoever hates giving pledge is fair.

A kind woman gains honour in grace, (ohhh)

Ruthless men gain riches they replace.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,

The wise win souls with insight rife.

If the righteous receive here on earth their due,

The wicked and sinner have judgment,

too.

Lord Jesus, thank You for being our unwavering balance.

Teach us to walk humbly,

love mercy, and sow righteousness.
