  • Routa and the Moonlit Cave

    Routa and the Moonlit Cave

    LightofLion

Four little heroes are growing every day.

    Usva nurses less now,

they eat and run and play.

She hunts beneath the evening sky and sometimes brings them food.

The kittens learn the ways of life as little wild ones do.

That Friday came a Full Moon,

    the Goddesses were near.

Lakshmi’s light was strong with me,

    washing old things clear.

    Usva came through the window

    again and then once more.

    Checking on her kittens,

    then leaving to explore.

I closed it when she entered.

    She opened it to go.

That night our little farmhouse moved in its quiet flow.

Then sleep came softly over me with three kittens lying near.

    But when I woke,

the window breathed, and Routa was not here.

    Routa, where did you go

    under the Full Moon light?

Somewhere beyond my window you walked into the night.

Inside I knew you were safe,

but still my heart could fear.

    Understanding is not everything until

    the feelings become clear.

    Trust what you know.

    Feel what you feel.

    Love makes understanding real.

I walked around the farmhouse with a headlamp in the night.

I searched the yard and listened,

    but Routa stayed from sight.

    Something deep inside me said,

“He is safe, go home and rest.”

So I returned and waited with that knowing in my chest.

    Morning came with Luna.

    We walked beneath the sky.

We met Usva on the gravel road,

    and together walked back home.

    I told her, “Usva,

help me. We will bring your kitten home.

I know that you know where he is,

but I do not really know.

I understand that he is safe,

    yet worry lives in me.

    So when you are ready,

    show me where

    Routa can be.”

    She did not hurry anywhere.

    A mother cat just knew.

    I asked again with honesty,

and finally she led me through.

We walked toward the southern fields,

    Usva led the way.

Into the forest by the edge where morning touched the day.

And there upon a rock he was,

    our little Routa boy.

    Behind him underneath the stones,

a tiny cave, his place of joy.

I lifted Routa in my arms and carried him back home.

I sang to him and talked to him so he would not

    feel alone.

The road became a gentle song.

    The worry turned to peace.

And when we reached our home again,

    my heart could finally release.

Usva taught me once again what knowing cannot do.

A thought may understand the truth,

    but feelings need truth too.

    Do not hide the worry.

Do not push the fear away.

    Reveal it and accept it,

    then balance finds its way.

Understanding becomes whole when heart and mind can meet.

And sometimes Divine teaches us through four small kitten feet.

Routa came back home from his moonlit forest night.

Safe inside my arms again beneath the morning light.

I knew that he was safe,

and now my heart knew too.

Usva walked beside the lesson the way she always knew.

    Trust what you know.

    Feel what you feel.

    Let every hidden feeling heal.

    When heart and understanding meet,

    the circle becomes real.

    A Full Moon.

    An open window.

    A kitten beneath a stone.

    A mother who knew.

    A heart that worried.

    And Routa

    came safely home.
