  • Daniel’s 70 Weeks

    Daniel’s 70 Weeks

    pure HI

    (yeah, yeah, check it)

In the first year of Darius,

    son of Ahasuerus, I,

    Daniel, took time to pray,

    my heart felt serious.

    I looked at the scrolls,

    saw the days of old,

Seventy years spoke of Israel's fate foretold.

    I prayed to the Lord,

    seeking mercy and grace,

Confessing our sins, I fell on my face.

    "Lord, we’ve been unfaithful,

    gone far from Your ways,

    We’re covered in shame,

    begging for better days."

Restore us, O God; take control of our helm!

(ohhh yeah!) Save us from the dark!

Give us a brand new spark!

    From the prophets of old,

    what a sight to behold,

    Not just for our errors,

    but Your story unfolds.

    You made us Your people,

    a light through the dark,

And here we are pleading for a brand new spark.

    I prayed with my heart,

    my fasting in place,

    To seek Your forgiveness,

    O Lord, full of grace.

"Give ear, Lord, forgive; our sins overwhelm," As I spoke my confession,

    the tears filled my eyes,

    For the ruin of Zion,

    it’s a painful surprise.

    Your temple lies waste,

    our hearts need repair,

    Help us see hope,

    Lord, bring us back there.

    Then something astounding

happened in prayer, The angel Gabriel stood,

    and he answered my despair.

“Daniel, I’m sent to bring good news,

Your prayers are heard; we’re breaking the blues.” “Seventy weeks are decreed,

    for your people and land,

To finish transgression, fulfil God’s plan.

    Anoint the Most Holy,

    it’s all coming clear,

The Saviour is coming; hold Him dear!”

After sixty-two weeks, the anointed will cease,

We’ll be broken but hopeful; God grants us His peace.

A covenant firm, for many it’s made,

    Though we face trials,

don’t be dismayed. The end of the city,

destruction so grand, But wait for the promise,

    you’ll see God's hand.

In the midst of the weeks,

a sacrifice paid, The wrath of the Lord poured,

    but be not afraid.

So I stood on this promise,

    my heart full of trust,

For God will deliver; He’s faithful and just.

    Jesus is the answer,

    hidden in the tale,

    He came to save us,

    His love will prevail.

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a humble heart,

I acknowledge my sin and need for forgiveness.

I believe that Jesus Christ is the Saviour,

Who came to fulfil the prophecies and paid the ultimate price.

Restore me and make me a witness.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    (Amen, amen)
