  • Lions’ Den Loyalty

    Lions’ Den Loyalty

    pure HI

(scratch-scratch-awww-yeah) Yo, King Darius, he’s ruling fine,

    Over one hundred twenty provinces,

watch the signs. He set up leaders,

three governors strong, Daniel was one,

    and he couldn’t go wrong.

Daniel stood out, with a spirit so bright,

Trusted and loyal, he was a shining light.

Others got jealous, they plotted and schemed,

But they couldn’t find fault; he lived out his dreams.

    So they hatched a plan,

    seeking a flaw, “Let’s make a decree,

    let’s break the law!

For thirty days, no prayers to any god,

    But if he does,

    we’ll give him a nod.”

    Darius signed the law,

    it was set in stone,

    But Daniel kept praying,

    his faith had grown.

    Three times a day,

    he knelt down to pray,

In front of his window—he wouldn’t betray.

    They found him praying,

    all caught in a trap,

    Brought him to the king,

    it was a real snap.

“Daniel, you’re guilty, the law’s been defied,

    Now to the lions,

    it’s time to decide.”

Darius was troubled, he liked Daniel’s ways,

But the law was the law,

    couldn’t find any praise.

“May your God save you,” he said with dread,

Then Daniel was thrown where the lions were fed.

He was cast in that pit,

    but did not despair,

The Lord sealed the mouths of the lions’ fierce glare.

    All night he was safe,

not a scratch, not a bite,

God sent a messenger; he did what was right.

Morning came early, Darius rushed in,

Called for Daniel, hoping his friend would win.

    “Daniel! Are you there?

Has your God saved you?” “Yes,

King! I’m alive! The lions couldn’t chew!”

Darius rejoiced, gave glory to God,

“From now on, we’ll honour the One who’s not flawed!

    For He’s the living God,

    He saves and He’s true,

His kingdom forever, just like Daniel knew.”

Heavenly Father, I come before You recognizing that just as Daniel faced

    the lions with unwavering faith,

I seek Your courage to face my own trials.

I confess that I have turned away from You and pursued my

own ways. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Saviour—He faced judgment

on my behalf and overcame death.

I ask for Your forgiveness and embrace the hope of salvation through

    Him. Strengthen

my faith to trust You in all circumstances,

and may I reflect Your love in the world around me.

Thank You for Your mercy and grace.

    Amen.
