Fireproof Faith

Yo, listen up, a story so bold,

About three young men whose faith was gold.

Nebuchadnezzar, the king so proud,

Built a golden statue,

tall and loud. He called all the people to bow down deep,

When the music played,

no time for sleep.

"Fall to your knees and worship my gold,

Or face the fire,

be brave or fold!"

Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego,

Stood up strong, said,

“No way, no show!

We won’t bow down,

we’ll never bend, Our God’s the one,

our true defend!”

Now the king was furious,

his face turned red,

“Bring those guys here,

they’ll soon be dead!” They came to the king,

said, “We’re not afraid,

Our God can save us,

His love won’t fade.” “Even if He doesn’t,

we won't choose your way,

We’ll trust in the Lord,

that’s what we’ll say.

You throw us in fire?

We don’t care what you do,

We’ll stay true to God,

it’s what we must do!”

Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego,

Stood up strong, said,

“No way, no show!

We won’t bow down,

we’ll never bend, Our God’s the one,

our true defend!” (ohhh yeah!) The king got mad,

made the furnace hot,

Seven times hotter, he gave it all he’s got.

Tied them up, threw them in the blaze,

But then the king saw a miraculous phase!

“Wait a minute, yo,

what do I see?

I see four men walking,

all bold and free!

One looks like the Son of God,

shining bright, In the flames,

they’re dancing, what a sight!” Shadrach,

Meshach, Abednego,

Stood up strong, said,

“No way, no show!

We won’t bow down,

we’ll never bend, Our God’s the one,

our true defend!” (hallelujah!) The king called them out,

their clothes untouched, Not even a smell of smoke,

they weren’t rushed. “Blessed be their God,

He’s the one who saves,

Who sent His angel,

through fire He paves?” “From now on,

you’ll honour no other name,

Worship their God, His power is flame.

No one can speak against this mighty King,

In Him all hope and salvation cling!”

Heavenly Father,

I come to You today,

just as Shadrach, Meshach,

and Abednego

stood firm in their faith.

I recognize that Jesus

is my Saviour.

I confess my sins and seek Your forgiveness.

Save me

as I put my faith in Your Son.

Lead me in my life

to honour You always.

Amen.
