  • Stone That Crushes

    Stone That Crushes

    pure HI

    (wicky-wicky

    scratch)

Yo, listen up, it’s a story so grand,

In the second year of Nebuchadnezzar’s command.

He had dreams that troubled his royal sleep,

His heart was heavy; the secrets ran deep.

    He called on his magicians,

    sorcerers too, “Interpret these dreams,

what’s a king to do?” But they scratched their heads,

said, “King, it’s too tough!” “No one can do it; your dreams

    are too rough!”

He ordered the wise men to be put to death,

A decree went out; it took their last breath.

But Daniel heard, and he sought the Lord,

Wisdom and mercy, he prayed and adored.

God showed him the dream and its meaning profound,

Daniel moved quick, he was glory-bound.

    To the king he went,

with a heart full of faith,

“Don’t destroy them; I know the One who creates.”

    He told King Neb,

    “O monarch, don’t fear,

The God of heaven will make it all clear.

    You had a great statue,

with a head made of gold,

But this dream speaks of kingdoms,

    powerful and bold.” (say what!)

    The chest and arms,

    silver, they stood tall,

    Then bronze for the belly,

    and legs made of all.

    Feet of iron and clay,

    so mixed and so strange,

But a stone cut from a mountain would bring the change!

It crushed all the kingdoms; it rose to the skies,

    A kingdom that’s never defeated,

that’s no surprise. The king was amazed,

    fell on his face,

    And said, “Truly, Daniel,

    you’ve shown me God’s grace.”

    He placed him in charge,

    made him wise and grand,

    In the land of Babylon,

    Daniel would stand.

    His friends were honoured,

    each in their place,

    God’s favour was heavy,

    in this holy space.

Heavenly Father, I come to You with a humble heart,

    Just as Daniel trusted,

    I seek a new start.

    I confess that like Nebuchadnezzar,

I’ve wandered away, In need of Your wisdom each and every day.

I recognize Jesus, the cornerstone so true,

    The stone

that crushes darkness and makes all things new.

    Please enter my life,

    become my true guide,

Let Your kingdom within me ever abide.

I ask for salvation; wash away my sin,

    In the name of Yeshua,

    let the journey begin.
